RATS
Some of the most common species of rodents that live in our area are the house mouse, Norway rat, and roof rat.

They also contaminate food with bacteria through their excrement and saliva. Preventing problems with rodents is vital not only to protect your property but your family’s health and safety as well.

PREVENTION: Deter rodents from your property by getting rid of their access to food. Keep tight-fitting lids on outdoor trash cans and compost bins. Remove bird feeders from your yard and pick up uneaten pet food between feedings. Make sure that outdoor eating areas are clear of food debris.
MICE
Rats and mice are very different. Since their biology is distinctly different, their treatment methods are too. Mice are clearly smaller than rats.

The most effective rodent control begins with prevention. Trash should be disposed of properly, and sanitary conditions should be impeccably maintained. Rodents can survive in small areas with limited amounts of food and shelter. So no matter how clean, all places where food is stored should be made rodent-proof as a preventative measure by keeping food tightly sealed in metal or glass containers. Both human and pet food is an incentive for rodents. Cardboard boxes are attractive to rodents, as they chew them up for use in their nests.
